One of the most mentionable discoveries in the twentieth century, that has changed the society, is in vitro fertilization, popularly known as Test Tube baby. Though in initial days, it created lots of controversies, refusals and hurdles, but, ultimately science won over the narrow believes, and changed the society. The first ever test tube baby, Louise Brown was born on 25th July, 1978, and just after 67 days, the research work of Dr. Subhash Mukhopadhyay resulted in the birth of Durga, the first IVF child in India. Nowadays, IVF, along with many other methods of ART have marked a new beginning in this field of infertility research, and science is actually enhancing the quality of human life.Keywords
